Estimation of the Regression Model of Determinants of Foreign Direct Investments in Czech Republic in the Manufacturing Industry

The thesis focuses on the issue of foreign direct investments and their determinants in the Czech Republic. It shows their basic forms, prerequisites of their creation and history. It is searching for factors, which influence foreign investors in Czech manufacturing industry, using econometric model on gathered panel data and its estimation with OLS, fixed and random effects.
The Effects of Industry 4.0 on Human Resource Management

The main purpose of this thesis is to analyse the state of human resource management in relation to Industry 4.0 used in the manufacturing industry in the Czech Republic. Another goal was to suggest possible improvements to the current situation. The detailed analysis of companies was carried out using a questionnaire survey. The basic facts about contacted respondents were processed into the graphs in the Microsoft Excel programme. The statistical method Student´s t-test and correlation analysis were used to evaluate the data in the Statistica computer programme. In general it can be stated that foreign companies are more familiar with the idea of the concept of Industry 4.0. Furthermore, it can be said that Industry 4.0 is not a threatening factor for existing jobs. Knowledge in digital loteracy, programming or robotics can be inclued in the required knowledge. Considering the results of the data processing three specific solutions that could be put into practice were suggested.
Differences in productivity of individual sectors in EU countries

The diploma thesis deals with labour productivity in the states of the European Union, primarily in terms of industry. The main objective is to assess the differences in the sectoral labour productivity of the EU countries. The thesis is focused first on the economics of growth, productivity and its types and then on labour productivity. The practical part in the first part deals with the analysis of labour productivity for the whole economy in individual EU countries. The next part analyses the labour productivity of EU countries in the manufacturing industry and individual sections of this sector, which are divided according to technological intensity. EU countries are analysed using labour productivity in absolute terms and according to the dynamics of labour productivity growth in the period 2010-2019. The last part shows the change in the level of labour productivity during the period under review and further defines the main differences in the sectoral labour productivity of the EU countries.
Typology of processes for the creation of new companies within the manufacturing industry in Czechia: a comparative analysis of two regions

This thesis contributes to the currently frequent topic of economic geography and explains the processes for the creation of new companies in the Pilsen and Zlín regions between years 2009-2011. The choice of these two regions reflects their similar structural characteristics within the firm sector and their different horizontal position. The aim of this work is to find out through which processes in the monitored regions new companies are being created within the manufacturing industry and to which extent these processes affect the subsequent economic performance of companies during the first five years of existence. For this purpose, a typology of the creation of new companies based on their initial characteristics was designed and processed. These initial characteristics reflect both the regional dimension in terms of the origin of the key resources for the creation of a new company relative to the hosting region and the consequent different competencies and possibilities of newly created companies. The bachelor thesis deals with the process of cocoa cultivation and production of chocolate. Its theoretical framework is based on the following concepts: regional development, transport infrastructure. The analytical part focuses on Ghana and Ivory Coast, dealing with the cocoa manufacturing industries, revenues and costs in cocoa production chain and the interactions between the governments and the international market. Furthermore, the impact of cocoa production on development of employment, education and transport infrastructure in these countries is analyzed. In suggestion part, recommended solutions of the main problems related to the cocoa production and manufacturing industry in Ghana and Ivory Coast are presented.
Systém financování malých a středních podniků v Německu a Velké Británii

Lontras, D., Financing system of small and medium-sized enterprises in Germany and Great Britain. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2019. The thesis describes the financing systems of small and medium-sized enterprises in Germany and the Great Britain. Furthermore, an indicator for evaluating the financial performance of SMEs is identified, according to which the performance of SMEs in Germany and Great Britain in the construction and manufacturing sub-sectors is assessed. Comparison of both countries shows that Germany is a country with better rating of SMEs according to Altman's Z' score. The main contribution of this thesis is the evaluation of financial performance according to the bankruptcy model of Altman Z' score, which enables us to moni-tor the development of this value over time, indicating large, partial or minimal financial difficulties. Next added value of the these is the assessment of the data obtained at two levels, where the first level is aimed at assessment of the development at the level of the whole sector and the second at the level of individual enterprises.

This bachelor thesis deals with the description of rapeseed commodity chain in the conditions of the Czech Republic. The commodity chain is defined based on specialised literature and available statistical data. The thesis deals with the cultivation development of this crop with a focus on factors that determine this development. Thesis defines the usage in the the processing industry and shows the causes of high utilization of this crop over past years. Moreover, it defines the price development of this commodity. Rapeseed is an important export commodity and that is why the development of foreign trade with rapeseed and its products is defined in the final part. Based on the analyses it was found out that the Czech Republic is one of the biggest producers of rapeseed in the European Union. One of the main reasons of its expansion on the Czech fields is its usage for producing the biofuels.

In this bachelor thesis, the concept of agriculture and its relation to the processing industry and orange cultivation in the Republic of Ghana is introduced. The aim of this thesis was to outline the possible impacts on the local market during business development in the region. The theoretical part discusses the benefits of processing of agricultural commodities and introduces the commodity orange as such. With the aid of business plan and financial analysis, it was proposed to embark on business activities focused on the processing of surplus oranges on small farms. In the final part of the thesis, impacts are discussed and suggestions are made for further development of business activities on a wider scale.
Analysis of manufacturing industry in South Bohemia region

This paper will examine the economic and geographical analysis of companies in the manufacturing industry, located in the South Bohemia region. The theoretical concept chosen to examine this paper will be the Global Production Networks (GPN). This is used for the comparison of states and firms in the world economy. A decision was made to select a quantitative approach of studying selected GPNs. The subject area is to, analyse the economic activity and their results of 11 groups of companies according to their position in the GPN in reference to their hierarchy, ownership, function and size. Three data indicators will be used to support this analysis, Returns on Assets (ROA), Wages to Turnover (WTT) and Capital Expenditures to Turnover (CTT). This paper will find out which company type produces the best results and which can positively affect local development. This paper will also explore if there is any pattern on location, company category and its economical results.
